I.Polyethylene (PE): Increasingly popular, especially for household use in the US and Japan, due to safety and environmental concerns surrounding PVC's plasticizers. PE film is less naturally adhesive than PVC
but is often enhanced with additives like polyisobutylene (PIB) or ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) to improve cling.
II.Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): The original and most widely used material globally, known for its excellent natural cling and stretchability. Concerns exist about the potential migration of plasticizers from the film
into food, particularly fatty foods, which has led to a shift towards PE in some markets.
III.Polyvinylidene Chloride (PVDC): Used in some specialized food wraps (like the original Saran wrap formulation) for its superior barrier properties, but its use has also declined due to environmental concerns.
